Who I Work With
You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Many people come in feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or simply unsure why life feels harder than it used to. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or a significant life transition, therapy offers a place to slow down, understand what's beneath the surface, and reconnect with what matters most. My goal is to help you create meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
My Approach
I don't believe therapy should feel like someone telling you how to live your life. My role is to help you understand yourself more clearly, recognize the patterns that keep showing up, and discover new ways of responding that fit who you want to be. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you, balancing insight with practical strategies you can use outside the therapy room. I draw from approaches including ACT, IFS, CBT, and Schema Therapy, but the focus is always on what will be most helpful for you—not on fitting you into a particular model.
About Me
My path to becoming a counselor has included serving as an Army medic and working in higher education and career counseling. Along the way, I've learned that growth rarely follows a straight line, and that some of life's most meaningful changes happen through patience, curiosity, and persistence.
When I'm away from the office, you'll usually find me on a mountain bike, working at the forge, spending time outside, or learning something new. I value being active, staying curious, and making time to slow down enough to appreciate the people and places around me.

Common Questions
What can I expect during my first session?
The first session is about getting to know you. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, what's been going on in your life, and what you're hoping will be different. You don't need to have everything figured out before you come in—we'll start wherever you are.
How often should I attend therapy
That depends on your goals and what you're working through. Many people start with weekly sessions to build momentum, then transition to every other week or less often as they begin feeling more confident. We'll decide together what makes the most sense for you.
What occurs in a typical session
Every session is a little different because every person is different. Some days we might explore patterns or emotions, while other days we focus on practical skills or specific challenges you're facing. My goal is to help you better understand yourself while also finding strategies you can use outside of therapy.
Will our conversations stay private
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions involving safety or situations where I'm required by law to report. I'll explain those limits during our first session so you know exactly what to expect.
